I was about to buy a new 2008 Shadow 750 for a good price, then the dealer notified me that they were all gone - offered me a left over 2009 for about a grand more. Funny thing that - next few days they (2008's) were still listed on the dealer's web site as being on sale. I don't think much of the old bait & switch deal - wouldn't have a Honda now if it were given to me. Seems to me that used car salesmen have nothing on motorcycle dealers - at least in the Central Florida area.

On a left over model it's hard to judge mainly becasue the only price listed is for used 2008 M50's, course remember as soon as you drive it off the lot you'll be faced with a book value of $5100.00.

On the same token your getting a brand new bike with a year warranty. In this situation the dealer probably is getting incentives on the motorcycle for being a left-over but don't kid yourself it's usually around 1000.00 dollars.

And take it easy on us motorcycle salesman you sound like you got a crappy experience were not all bad, besides a lot less profit in bikes then a car. Good luck and great choice the VZ800 is a great bike that far surpasses the ole sporster imo!
