Hey all, just bought an 06 Suzuki C50T and did a first oil change, called the dealer and was told to use 20W50 synthetic. Found clutch problems almost right away when it was cold, did some research and found i needed to use 10W40 instead, did an oil change and that problem went away but now starting to get vibrations and some crankcase noise when under power...any ideas?

How's your idle speed; sounds like it might be a bit low. I think there have been some problems with the shaft drive. Anyhow, see a Suzuki dealer about your noise.......or check in here: Motorcycle Forum Lots of Zuki "experts" there.

Unless, as ER2 said, you used car oil, the difference between the 20/50 and 10/40 is not a factor. You have a narrow angle, vee-twin engined bike. Its going to vibrate and make engine noise; that's the nature of the bike. That's what makes it like a Harley.
Go over it carefully and put a wrench on all the big nuts and bolt. Make sure none are loose, especially the engine mounts. Check the fluid in your shaft drive at the rear hub. Unless you hear a piston slapping or metal on metal grinding, don't worry about it. Buy some ear plugs and ride it. |
