I would like to replace the engine in my GS1100GK with one out of a GS1100G.
Would anyone happen to know if the engine will fit without modifications of any sort. |

Thanks for the 'Duh.............' but I was actually wondering if maybe some items such as engine mounts may have changed over the years.
One good thing though, the link to GSResources was particularly helpful, which is my understanding as to what forums like this are about. |

What are you talking about something might have changed "over the years". The GS1100G and GS1100GK are about 1981, 1982 models. The GK is the same as the G except it has all the touring equipment such as the fairing and saddlebags. The G is the "naked" model. It's the same bike. Duh......
Or are you referring to the much newer GSX1100G which came out in 1991 which is a totally different engine based on the original GSXR1100 motor? This is a different kettle of fish and like asking if a 350 Chevy would bolt right into a Vega. Suzuki GSX1100G model history |
