i have a 1981 suzuki gs1000g it runs great but all my lights just quit working including the dash lights, anyone have any ideas?
i checked all the fuses they are ok even though it has a bad flasher unit the turn signals quit working at all they used to at least light up but not flash.

Let's parse this for clarity:

I have an idea. Check the fuses again. There is obviously no juice in the lighting circuit.

Use a test light to find out where the power cuts out. Also check the fuse box itself are the fuses tight in place? Also check the Switch aswell.

If it's not in the fuse box, look for a faulty ground. This is common when lots of stuff stops working.

you know i allways thought these forums were suppose to be for people that need some help with problems they are having, but i guess i was mistaken! the only thing this forum is for asswholes and jerks to critisize other people that actualy need the help. well i don't need this crap from morons that don't know anything. i figured it out myself; for some of the people that do want to know. the fuse box needed to be cleaned with a wire brush, even though it looked ok it was dirty
