I have a CDI and a circuit diagram for the Suzuki TF125.
What I need to know is which wire connects to the magneto charging coil, and which wire connects to the trigger coil. The circuit diagram shows the wiring but does not differentiate between the charging and trigger circuits. Reason is that I have a Tecumseh engine on my ride on mower and the CDI has failed. A nos CDI for the model costs nearly $900, (I can get a Chinese copy of a 12hp Honda engine for less than that) but I do have a couple of Suzuki CDI's Thanks Ian F |

Connect it one way. If it doesn't work then switch the wires the other way.

Is your answer on behalf of all members?
Just because you may not know does not mean that 'nobody' knows. There is a possibility that someone somewhere has a stator plate sitting on a bench and is able and willing to trace the connecting wires to their respective coils and help me solve my problem. Here's hoping. |

Pull the coils out and see if you can trace the wires. You can use a VOM with very sharp probes to probe through the insulation without ruining it.

Sadly - all I have is a CDI (left over from repairs to a neighbours bike) and a Suzuki manual.
I was hoping that I would not have to borrow the bike back so I could pull it apart. ![]() Ian F |
