But I wish they would offer the SV1000 with ABS. Good move to resurrect the Bandit, tho.

good points. i just hope that some of these (for me at least) interesting/more-real-world-oriented naked designs make their way over to the states before i move back permanently.

for example, kawasaki has put the 650 ninja engine into an enduro model for the european market, which might be a great second bike/commuter/short range tourer. considering that the hornet and the 1250 bandit have already emigrated stateside, i'm optimistic.

I'd like to see it, but the hornet bombed and the Bandit isn't selling.

Honestly, I'm disappointed in myself in my choice of bike purchace. Honestly, my skills are suited to something way less fast and sporty than I have, and toward a bike that just looks cool and is fun to ride and has a modi***** of tourabiliry. I should have a Triumph Scrambler or a Bonnie, or some Guzzi, maybe even a BMW R1200R or some old UJM. I bought into the sportbike thing, and I really don't feel like it fits sometimes.

Really? I'm completely suspicious of ABS on bikes. Anyone have any real world experience with it?

I know of only one incidence where it caused a crash - BMW R1200 S, can't remember the model-year. Friend of mine, happened at a Rally in the GA Mtns in 2002. It was a "delayed" application that upset the rider more than the bike, but he mis-corrected and lowsided.

To add insult to injury, the bike then flipped itself over to rub the other cylinder-head against the pavement, then promptly jumped-over a guardrail and off through the woods into the hollow............

My friend was O.K., just a little scuffed and bruised. More P.O.'d than anything, though.

Whoops! Sorry, it was an R1150 S - NOT the 1200 (current model)!

Doh! (smacks forehead)

The versys is a cooler version of the sv in my opinion. I'd trade mine in for one. It even looks fantastic.

Default Not as comfortable

I just sat on the new Bandit 1250 yesterday at the LMD (local motorcycle dealer). I am 6'5, and for my long legs the Bandit was not nearly as comfortable as the FZ-1. Your experience may vary.
