I would have loved to do the 500 mile breakin today but parenting and this darn job that allows such frivolity come first.

My son is only 5 so he's perhaps ready for once around the block but that's about it.

It's so friggin hot here I can't believe more people didn't ditch work to ride. There were lots of surfers out though. Surfers always know what's truly important and it ain't work!

Could someone with connections ask if I can buy one without the headlight? I'm just going to put it on the track anyway and don't need the headlight...

Think they'll give me $1000 off list???

I hear you, between my 3 daughters and work, I hardly get out myself, my 10 year old loves to ride so we go on mailbox runs, 'round the block a few times, then she hops off and checks the mail, it's pure magic.

In my opinion, the ZRX is definitely not sexy. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I'm not 45, so I don't remember when race bikes looked like that. The FZ1 can look pretty good from the front, but that's about it.

None of the bikes in this category approach the level of attractiveness that the CBR1100XX can generate. I can see it now: "DAMN kid! That black bike is the shizit! I wants me a bike like that, yo! Hell yeah, I bet it be easy to lif' it into yo brothas truck. Les get us that ride tonight, cuz!" Or some other sort of brainless criminal conversation. Hopefully seeing the engine and dull steel frame will help dissuade s***** from wanting my bike. As anyone knows, a bike is only fast if it has lots of swoopy plastic

A serious concern I had about the Bandits besides the burning oil is vibration. I have heard that it is pretty bad.

Congrats Buz! 2 weeks early too, you lucky dog. There's nothing like picking up that new bike. It's like opening X-mas presents when you were a kid (until the bills start coming). Enjoy!

You are probably right about the age thing -- being well over 50 myself, my "ideal" image of what a bike should look like is something along the lines of a Norton Manx, with old Ducatis (singles and VTwins) BSA flattrackers etc also in there. Doesn't stop me from lusting after modern sportbikes like the R1, or any of the new 600s though.

I also think Tina Turner is far sexier than Britney Spears!

Hey, after having a high yesterday of 68, I woke up to snow, and we now have about 6" of heavy, set snow on the roads. Hope it cools down and continues snowing, so maybe we will salvage something from the ski season.

I was just about ready to get the Ducati out of storage, assuming that we weren't gonna get any winter.

Cheers

Bob

My God, that's the sickest thing I've ever heard.
