Would this be a good first bike? I was going to get the R6 but my friends all tell me that I will out grow it.

Sure would. Better get some nice shorts and a tanktop 'cuz that'll help ya cut the wind better. Pants only cause wind drag.

Don't forget protective gear! A Do-Rag or backwards ballcap and Oakley's are a definite must!

When will the engineers put some torque in these sportbikes ? If I wanted to dance on the shifter all day I'd buy a 600 . 160HP isn't much good on the streets I ride .

They HAVE put torque in sportbikes. They're called V-twins. Or Triumph triples.

Torque, schmork! Didn't you look at the pictures? They put the swoopy thing on the front fairing so it looks like < That's the important thing. Besides, if you want torque, you go buy a motard or naked standard, not a sportbike.
