The V-Rod I test rode a few years back had the Screamin' Eagle up grades on it. I thought it was a nice running bike with buckets of torque. The only bad thing was as with most HD's is it's too low, I remember a few OH S**T moments dragging parts in what should have been normal street riding corners.
I think the bottom line is the Standard V Rod is a straight line bike, plenty fast but limited in application. The Street Rod version that has some decent suspension and lean angles along with the Screamin Eagle up grades would, I imagine be more fun than a pillow case full of puppies
