Yep- I can see Joe Patrol holding the meter i inch from the pipe- dead center. "Son, your bike's too loud. We're gonna have to impound it."
How do you argue that? Cops aren't going to worry about placement of the dB meter. Hopefully, cops just won't care at all, but I see bad things from this.

Yep- You roll in once a yr and pay $10 for a sticker that states you're in EPD/DOT compliance.
I'll be opening my shop this fall. 1 dB meter and a computer to print the stickers. Open for buisiness for under $1000.

When I inspected in Hawaii everyone and their brother would come to us because we'd over-look the fact that they had an after market exhaust installed. When I'd ask my boss about them catching us he'd reply" Just tell'em they had a stock one when I gave them the inspection? I did them all, he never did any of the inspections.

Once again, why spend money on a bullsh*t program when you have federal regulations covering this already in place. Any street motorcycle sold since at least 1980 has an EPA stamp on the silencer stating it's a violation to tamper with the intake or exhaust in such a way as to increase noise over 88dba....infact I think they lowered it to 80dba. All officer friendly has to do is look at the exhaust. No stamp and you're in violation, simple as that.
It's like these "No street racing" zones in industrial areas, you already have a posted speed limit, if you're exceeding that then you're speeding., 20mph over the posted limit is reckless driving....why f*ck around writing 300 laws to cover the same god dam* thing? Idiots I swear and we voted for these dildos?
