At the Duc dealer they give you a free container of Vasilene before you get the bill. Can't beat that!

Ah,...isnt that the same Vasaline Harley Davidson uses? Besides the profits they turn are humongous?
Maybe the way Ducati and Harley customers get treated is a direct correlation to the high cost their paying everyday.

Today, I am about to visit a dealership.
I mention this, because I haven't been in one for about a year. I already know that he will not have what I need in stock, but I want to run an experiment to see how long it takes, and how much it eventually costs. I hate to admit that online parts sellers have completely sucked me in. It has been many years that I've been able to buy anything off the shelf at anywhere near online store pricing, plus, I have to make a lengthy trip to visit any of them. I haven't bought a NEW bike since 1980. I do all the work on my bikes. I have, however, patronized a few non-dealership repair shop/parts sellers. They seem to have much less overhead, and more time to waste talking about riding.

I don't think so. If service were related to bike cost then BMW's service wouldn't be in the madura hole.

What is the 'high cost they are paying every day' mean? Which Harley needs the valves done every 5000 miles? Let me know, so I can get the Vasaline ready. Even a complete moron can work on a Harley. If you take it to the dealer, you deserve what you get.
