The Petrified Forest of Calistoga, CA

Yesterday, I rode two up with my daughter Elizabeth to eat lunch in Calistoga, possibly meet Andy (BanjoBoy at BMWST) for the first time, go to The Petrified Forest of Calistoga, and ride back to Red Bluff.

336 Miles

CA State Route 20 – The back seat picture taking is courtesy of my daughter Elizabeth.

There were a lot of bikes on the road.

Good thing I wasn’t speeding… You never know who might be around the next bend.

There are a few interesting people in Calistoga.

Lunch in Calistoga.

While I was in Calistoga, I called Andy (BanjoBoy) to see if I could meet him. He gave me his address, entered it into my gps ,and off we went heading for Santa Rosa. It only took 20 minutes to get to Andy’s house. I want to thank Andy and Jan for such a warm welcome!

After visiting, we started for home – Porter Creek Road/Petrified Forest Road

A couple of old photographs in the visitor center

These pictures were taken on the way home just as we turned onto Hwy 128. The giant chair was next to a barn. Notice the baby chair under it.
