Talking I'm procrastinating, OK

Dan yer my brother and I love ya. But our riding styles and experience levels are just too different. I hope you had fun last night. Yeah I hustled you out the door today and went on the first north county loop of the year. NOAA said less than an inch of rain so quick I get dressed and out the door heading east to hit a north running road.

Bikes running great. Whether it was the new shorter spacer in the forks or the rear being rebuilt, thanks Klaus, the frost heaves and bumps in corners felt more controlled, stable and confidence building

Everything is still that light tan that borders on grey with small snow patches in the small woodlots of the farm land you see heading north on Rte 3 off of 104. The land is still holding on to the sorrow of a long winter without any of the promise of spring.

In pasture a small herd of horses are running hell bent toward a barn a ½ a mile away as if they’ve heard the grain bin being opened. Bonnie Jeanie, she was a barrel racer. Those thoughts bring to mind some others, Mary Bridget, Laura Ray and Cynthia Ann. What is it with women with two first names? Shouldn’t you be paying attention? Your 20 over now on roads not long ago covered with snow.

The first sign was that the road was wet, snow melt I said to myself. Then as I entered the woods you could see the fog. It got cold like walking into a beer cooler. A pick up pushed its way thru the fog in the other lane. Last year on this ride this is where I hit snow covering the road. The roads were clear but the snow banks grow higher and I had to remind myself to slow down. This road ends in a T and I’ve enjoyed it so much once in the past the stop sign and I had issues. Turn south toward Redfield.

The seasonal roads, the reason for the KLX, are buried in snow. The Salmon River is cutting a channel thru the reservoir ice. 3 arrows mark the turns. Thru the village that brought us the Case tractor, where traps are still advertise on a plywood sign in the center of town past the Amish to where 104 begins in the east. Go west young man.

Out of the farmland and into the woods again till that last 2 turns that find my thumb looking for the turn signal cancel switch. And sunlight. The fun is over. While my hands felt fine on the bars I can’t feel well enough to engage the sun visor, odd I think. Back across I-90 and state routes home. What a let down, traffic, traffic lights, shopping malls.

NY Route 104E to 104 B to 3N to County Route 15E to 17S to NY 13N to 104W across the Oswego River and home. I don’t seem to be able to stop myself to take pictures.

Young man, that's funny, I used my AARP card this morning.
