The only thing the Chinese and Koreans want to sell us is some rope so we can hang them with........no, wait.....we sell them the rope and they hang themselves?....no that's not it...we sell them the rope and they hang us with it...

We pro'ly need to sell them an airplane or two as well so they can get over here. I guess we can sell them a couple of airplanes full of rope, they can tie some knots in it and fly back here and string us up.

That ought to work..

I learned to ride on a '66 Triumph Tiger Cub.......

Just thought I'd throw that out there, it was a fun bike and it makes sense to use the name again in that context.

I will bet any amount of money they will never call it the Cub.

Everything has to sound "mean" these days.

Default A tough sell?

I'd expect it to be $7999; $1000 less than the D675. At that price, look at its competition:

Ducati S2R: 70-ish hp, $8995

Buell XB9X: 72 hp, $8495

Kawasaki ZR-7S Discontinued!

BMW F800: about 75hp and $10,000

Honda 599: Gone!

Yamaha FZ-6: 100hp, $6849-this could be the one to watch out for, but it won't have the torque or handling the D675 has, no way.

SV650: 70hp and $5,999: tough to beat, true, but look at a prospective 675 naked:

SpeedCub 675: 110hp, lighter than the SV, and WAAAY more torque and power, with radial-mount brakes, fully-adjustable suspension, premium tires and that incredible exhaust note for an extra $1500-$2000? Sign me up! Just adding upgraded suspension and exhaust to the SV adds $1200-1500.

I'm surprised that you work in motorcycle sales and put so much emphasis on price. If price was the most important thing to a customer we'd all be riding around on Ninja 250s and YZF600Rs.

I'm a rider first, motorcycle insurance guy 2nd and finance mgr 3rd. The bike shop thing is for the extra money, really. The guys here know that I'm an insurance specialist at heart. I'm just good enough at the F&I thing to keep my friends (bosses) happy.

Price drives sales, though. Without the right pricing point things don't sell. That's why 599s sat on floors in Honda showrooms. If you don't hit the market with the correct numbers you'll just be giving birthday parties for bikes....

So many possibilities in the 675 motor:

"Baby" Speed, Tiger Cub, Re-introduce the Thunderbird with suspension adjustability, and a few other ideas in my bean.
