matter o fact i think the TOP 2 bikes in the rat hole deal were both Yamahas. Expect the Yuppie backlash to start with the kids who can't afford a real Hog.

Default "Stay the Course" HD logic and the flaw with it.

Good point But longride believes in the B.S. that HD is not vulnerable. Now that their market share and demand are falling on their obsolete products they will do what every other American company run by a Harvard MBA focus on costs i.e outsourcing. Since there is virtually no R&D and the raw materials are commodities they have to focus on labor. cost Notice how they were going after benefits etc. Next they will outsource parts and call themselves the designer and integrator. Next they will outsource integration and call themselves the designer. HD needs to build on its strength but innovate. More bikes based on the V-Rod engine. New engine for Buells

Yamaha actually has some history in this on the right side of Atlantic. The few choppers we had in my youth were mostly built on Yamaha 650 twins. The only H-Ds going around that time were 125, 250 and 350 two stroke singles made in Italy. Less than ideal base bikes for choppers.

For some reason these little Harleys don´t usually appear on H-D histories. Or anywhere else either. I checked wikipedia and yes, even there its all covered up. Airbrushed from history, it never happened. This sort of dishonesty is offputting.

"I've got an idea who you might want Stat Boy to be, though the roll may be a bit more...punishing."

Oh, yeah. I can see it now............

Buz: "And we go now to our resident Statistician - KPaul Cook. KP, what are the vitals on this new Chopper?"

KP: "Well, Buz. This thing could be called a Yamaha, but the fact that it can't stop or handle as fast or gracefully as your average Yellow 2001 ZX-6 Ninja means I'll have to call it a Bush-Loving Deathmobile with Harley tendencies and a pepronderance (sic) toward the falling Dollar and rising Interest Rates, with no Democratic-approved Exit Strategy. Plus the fact that it can accelerate to (c -1.08123965)x10^14 fast enough to flatten your eyeballs, thereby proving my theory that the earth is flat and my predictions that we will all one day die; means this is the Safest form of transportation in the Universe."

Buz: "I'm sorry KP, but that answer is Incorrect. As per your employment contract, we will now activate the shock-collar locked around your neck, so the audience at home can watch you writhe and flop like a beached carp." [presses large red button on desk labeled "Laugh Track"]

KP: "NOOOOOooooAaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Buz: "God, I love the smell of Ozone in the Morning............"

There he goes again...

I predict your ZX-6 will actually get ridden before Buell is 'forced' to give up on A/C Sportster derivatives for emissions or performance reasons.

Try searching for AMF instead. It was their fault Aermacchis(?) were sold with H-D logos.
