Is it superior or inferior to a backwards baseball cap?

No, it's the sudden deceleration at the end that kills. Whether you come to a Dead Stop at 35mph by face-firsting a wall, or the same at 135mph; you'll still be D-E-D either way. It's just a matter of how they get you off the wall - garden hose, or 3500psi pressure-washer...........

Default Nonsense, its how energy is transferred is the key.. i.e conservation of energy law

Nonsense, its the transfer of energy is the key. Remember Newton's law of conservation of energy. Energy cannot be destroyed and can only be transfered. i.e in this case the energy has to be transfered somewhere i.e smashing metal and flesh. Sudden deceleration by itself doesn't cause death and sudden acceleration doesn't cause it either. It's the way the way the energy is transferred. Theoretically seruzawa's mythical cruiser would superior brakes would decelerate as fast as hitting another car. Assuming you could stay on such cruiser would you die just cause of deceleration. Of course not cause the energy would be transfered to the brake pads of the seruzawa's superior mythical cruiser. But if you decelerated by hitting a car or wall you would see the energy transferred via crunching flesh, plastic and metal.

If "helmets" were obligatory, Darwin's theory would be self-contained.
