And yet they're still the police bike of choice. Weird.

I agree.. When I got my ticket for passing on a yellow line. I actually popped a wheelie as I speed past. The sheriff deputy gave me a break and dropped the speeding and reckless driving part.

I'm a anti-Bush Republican... Bush isn't a real Republican with his big deficits and reckless foreign policy.

Default H1

I just leaned way forward when I got close to 6,500rpm on my H1. Like hanging over the handlebars with my head. I also slowly cranked on the throttle on freeway on ramps.

Default No but it is 'Careless Driving'

Here in NJ the judge called it Careless Driving when I wheelied at a stop light. Less serious but a slap on the wrist of a lively teen rider. Was many years ago, lesson learned.

From the article it wasn't clear whether they were really wheelyiing, i.e. balancing on the rear wheel, or just lifting the front whee off the pavement under acceleration. The latter certainly shouldn't be illegal. In fact it's hard to avoid on my RS250 when it hits the power band in 1st gear.

Willow Springs Raceway bans the real kind of wheelying; so that would be a pretty good argument for calling it reckless on the street.
