Hallett is one of them, I believe they offer a "cruiser-only" day once or twice a year.

Not to defend kp too vigorously, but you've confused correlation with causality - a classic error.

There are multiple factors contributing to motorcycle wrecks, and inherent capabilities of the bike being only one of them (and I would bet a minor one).

So, let's review. So far we have distracted cagers, 50+ 're-entry' riders, and, likely, kids with inflated ideas of how well they can handle what would have been a pretty good racebike a decade or ago. I think that about sums it up, with maybe a few people going to ground who were put in an impossible position, and a few who should have known better. We've all had some fun here, but, in reality, don't we all know that all of the above is the only correct answer?

Uh, Yeah. I think I already said something to that effect, but not exactly in the same words.

I could not care less what their job is, I happen to have one that pays pretty well myself. Enough that I can make ends meet, afford a new bike every 3 or 4 years, a used one every year or so if I sell one to finance the next. My Wife doesn't have to work, and she gets a bike as well.

If you've ever had to fix your bike because some a$$hole RUB with more money than sense did something to it "for a prank", then told you "It's fixable, whattyer bellyachin' about", when the same SOB rides a new $25K+ Harley, you just *might* have a different attitude.

There was a time when I DIDN'T have such a good job, and $100 fix meant waiting for 7 or 8 months to save up for it.

Yeah, I a bit fxin' bitter, a$$hole.

Read that last line as:

"Yeah, I'm a bit Fsckin' bitter, A$$hole."

You don't know me, I don't know you.

You have no idea. Really.

With me it's more a kind of hypervigilance kind of thing. Every input seems amplified, and I sit at the center, trying to deal with them in the proper order. When I get the butterflies, it's usually a dawning realization that the corner is tightening up, rather than straightening out and I've put myself into a tight spot. It takes a lot of energy on my part to get back to thinking about what options I have left, so I guess I always think of that fear as impediment to fixing the situation.

I think of those 'oh, oh' moments that come with small mistakes as a warning to back off before you make THE BIG ONE. The butterflies serve you well, with me they come when I'm already in trouble, and it's the last thing I need at the moment.

By your logic then a Gold Wing at 800+ lbs will take twice as far to stop as a 400lb sportbike.

Obviously this is not true. All the arguing and "logic" in the world will not make it true.
