That I can almost guarantee you. Getting tenure means being published and published with the acclaim of your peers. Something tells me that has a lot to do with the word choice.

It would be interesting if you were also able to analyze what the marginal tax rates were then and now. You might be surprised.

Default You win.

That's why the best movie ever is "Being there" with Peter Sellers.

Personally I'm looking forward to ripping up old motorcycle magazines for use as toilet paper. They'll serve a dual purpose, readin' and wipin'.

Summary:

Poor folk have nothing. Rich folk have money.

Poor folk see that rich folk have money, so invent cool so that they have something, too.

Poor folk say: "Nyah, nyah, you have money but I have cool and no amount of money can buy cool."

Rich folk say: "Oh, yeah? I'll buy your jeans for $500."

Poor folk say: "Hey, you willin' to pay me $500 for a lousy pair of jeans? You crazy? I'll take your money, sucker."

Poor folk have some money and cool. Rich folk have more money and cool.

Soon, the world will reach an equilibrium of cool and money that modern social scientists call the Coney.

I couldn't go back far enough to hit the date my Dad started working (195, but from 1979 to 1999, the marginal tax rate dropped from 57 to 48 and most western economies sharply dropped it over the past 50 years, so I would assume it would be lower in Canada as well.

Which would mean I would have more money in my jeans at the end of the day than my Dad, percentage wise. Are you suggesting that this partially or completely offsets the increase in overall costs of goods?

"The gist is that income has not stayed pace with inflation"

What did a 27" color TV cost in 1980?

What did a VCR cost in 1985?

What did a DVD player cost in 2000?

Just like "Pinky and the Brain". Which one do you want to be in my plan to take over the world? Both look good to me.
