so, in W. Hollyweird you can have 1500 watts of audio flooding every square block of town and it's bad to put an aftermarket exhuast system on a bike. the mayor is ultimately going to make the city look like a bunch of a**holes for picking on one segment of the population. profiling - thought cops were supposed to be too pc for that.

I'll man the hoses here in St. Augustine, especially during bike week and biketoberfest. The bars make money, the residents suffer.

If we can include cars, trucks and boom boxes we'll be real happy.

You can get SpellBound for Firefox or ieSpell for Internet Explorer. A pair of useful tools indeed!

I never understood the need for loud pipes. It amazes me that people will spend well over a grand on an exhaust system and look at a Penske or Ohlins shock as a waste of money. But, I wear earplugs when I ride so the value of a loud exhaust is wasted on my anyway.

Who'd a thunk common sense could come out of California, let alone West Hollywood. I'd like to see loud pipes banned period. Nothing pisses off the general public as much as loud pipes.

I agree with Sean, I eat sleep and breath motorcycles and they annoy the hell out of me, I can imagine how someone who doesn't care for bikes one way or the other, or actively dislikes bikes would feel.

This is a classic case of a relative minority of people acting like spoiled children screwing things up for the rest of us. It's amazing they didn't try banning bikes all together, and I'm sure that would be the case in less tolerant areas.

Anything you can do with my neighbors dog that barks 24/7? I'd take motorcycles riding by all day long compared to this mutt!

Super-loud Harleys are by far the biggest source of noise pollution in the Hollywood, Santa Monica, Malibu, Marina Del Rey and South Bay areas of Los Angeles. The stereos, loud cars, trucks and parties don't even come close. That is why loud pipes on motorcycles are being singled-out.
