Maybe after Rossi will make that move, the rest of the riders might have a virtual chance at the championship like Sete had last year.

While I admit I'm not a Matt fan I hope he does move. The only strike I can see is his age. I thought factory rides went for the young kids. Also I'm sure Honda's sales stink in the US with Matt wining everything with Suzuki so if you can beat him buy him off the circuit!

Default Mladin loses a race -on the track-

Great finish to the Pikes Peak Superbike race... has E-Boz got that track figured out or what?

The only real issue with Mladin in Gp's is that at 6'2" and 190 lbs, he is 50 lbs up on Rossi & Sete, and more than that on Biaggi. In that class, talent cannot make up for a 10% weight deficit on the bike/rider package.

I would love to see Mladin there, as it would be great for the sport, but the weight issue...

My roommate and I might be persuaded to give up our tickets and paddock passes.

The price will be in the high four digits though. LOL

Default Put your money where your mouth is Matt

Matt, you can stay in the AMA for another couple years and then move back to Australia and retire comfortably to a life at home with your family and running your motorcycle dealership.

But tell me this isn't an itch that you, and the world collectively, need to have scratched? Otherwise you'll just always be the champion of a watered-down US series. If you want a rank among the world's greatest, you have to ride against them.

Matt doesn't make him easy to like and it is his dominance that is partly to blame for AMA superbike being so boring. But Matt, don't brag about how good you think you are unless you are willing to throw your hat in the ring. I personally think you'll get your ass handed to you but if you have the heuvos to go at it and win, I'll stick my foot firmly in my mouth.

Mladin didn't take the Superbike Championships untill Nicky went over the pond, IIRC.

Bryan...then again, the GSXR1k wasn't allowed, either...

I've heard this issue before, and I think Mladin himself has stated this as a hindrance to his GP future. It makes sense, but isn't one of the main issues keeping Pedrosa on 250's is the perception that a little guy can't handle a big bad fire-breathing GP bike? Seems to me that someone who knows how to use their 190 lbs can actually have some advantages on a 240hp bike, particularly with regard to keeping the front end down.
