Default Re: Mladin to MotoGP in 2006

Some facts to consider:

-the american honda/HRCconnection isn't as strong as you may think(epecialy this year)

-Mladin will not leave his dominant Gixxer for the back marker GSV R anything other than a yamaha or a honda will be unacceptable

-Yamaha doesn't need him they have Rossi

-Mladin will demand a nice round figure to get him away from his sunday afternoon ride known as the Ama superbike Cship

-Honda has the cash, Hayden Biaggi and Barros probably cost less than 1 Rossi needless to say

they(HRC) got the money and they want to win.

and who would benefit most from Mladin's departure you ask??

American honda of course.

As a Mladin fan, I would love to see it. Sete and Nicky are kind of missing the mental toughness of Mat. However, I think Mladin is about 5 years too old for this and will turn it down cause of his family. Unless, they said to Mladin you get Biaggi's bike i.e. the best Honda bike...and you get Biaggi's salary and half of Nicky's. Also he gets to bring his crew with him...

Whether you like Mladin or not you have to admit he is the consummate professional on a motorcycle.

Wasn't Kenny Roberts Jr. a world champ on a Suzuki back when they were racing two strokes? I think the Suziki four stroke bike is back where the Kawasaki is. Mladin won't go to MotoGP on a bad bike. Didn't he do that once already? I agree with others its the best Honda bike or he doesn't go at all.

Default Point Taken:

"World Superbike seems like a more logical move"

That's a real good point. However, HRC needs someone to compete with Rossi, and they need him fast! From the way I see things, Mladin's contribution to HRC could be two fold. 1st: He would be a viable competitor against Rossi. 2nd: He might serve as a good mentor for Nicky Hayden. I have no doubt that Nicky Harden has enough talent to be a MotoGP champion. On the other hand, he may be too-nice-of-a guy. He might also be having some difficulty – considering, his responsibilities to HRC – keeping his head straight. And, if there was ever a perfect roll-model for keeping-your-head-straight, it’s Mladin!

Another thing to keep in mind: Rossi vs. Mladin would be an awe-inspiring rivalry. The contrasts between Rossi and Mladin are classic: Rossi has unparalleled talent and remarkable drive, Mladin has unparalleled drive and remarkable talent. It would be, like: Ali vs. Frazier – An irresistible force vs. an immovable object – or Ahab vs. Moby ****! Hell, it’s almost "My dad, can beat-up your dad."
