Default Let the battle begin

I can see how this is going to launch another heated debate between the two sides of the helmet debate.

Me, I say let Darwin do his magic.

How can you blame people for stupid behaviour when the example set in the movies and TV is to NEVER do up the chin strap. Research has shown that serious injury can occur in subsquent head-bashing (on the road surface) while tumbling, after the helmet has parted company.

It has nothing to do with helmets. He didn't know how to ride PERIOD. End of story right there. He was a 5 minute hero on a GSXR 750 until he had to turn. No license, no skill. Ask Jay Williams from the Bulls about that situation a couple years back when he solo crashed his R6 and nearly tore his leg off hitting a pole. Again, no license, no skill, and now no basketball career, but plenty of horsepower. Maybe he should have worn a helmet on his leg? Here's a better idea. Stay off motorcycles if you don't have the respect for the machine and the skill to ride one.

I think that it's Kellen, not Kevin. And to be really super, duper technical, it's Kellen Winslow Jr.; there's a plain Kellen Winslow who was also a football player, but from the late 1970s and early 1980s.

He's the moderately stable gentlemen who went off on the "I'm a soldier" tirade a couple of years back when he was at UM - a fantastic athlete, but perhaps a little bit full of himself. He's also apparently not the sharpest tool in the shed, scoring a 12 on the Wonderlic (out of 50) at the NFL combine. While not an IQ test, outcomes tend to be statistically correlated with IQ, although there are other factors, and obvious 1st round draft choices probably don't take it entirely seriously.

I agree with the respect factor

BUT...

"Stay off motorcycles if you don't have ... the skill to ride one. "

If this were true no one would ever ride - skill is a gained via practice (maybe in a parking lot)

Skill is gained by taking a class. Practicing something you don't know just makes you dangerous.

My voodoo doll worked! I drafted Winslow in my fantasy league last year and he promptly screwed me by getting injured in the first game and missed the whole year. I've been stabbing that thing in the knee ever since.
