Not to mention the sales of over the counter reading glasses.

Kind of makes you wonder. If the scooter was chained to the fence, and they thought it might blow up and cause damage, why would they heap even more explosives on it and set them off?

Idiotic police? You don't say. Talk about a dime a dozen. Well, I guess I should say a dime a baker's dozen.

Funny tidbit, but not too long ago when I was returning home on a Saturday morning around 3 a.m., I passed by the local doughnut shop and what should I see? No less than eight, yes that's right eight police cruisers parked out in front. I even went in just to check it out. No crime, nothing. Just fresh doughnuts and fat sheriffs.

Pigs.

What if the scooter was full of VX nerve gas?

I guess it was too much trouble for the "police" to wait around for a couple of minutes to see if the scooter was left there by someone visiting the DMV. What morons.

I'm surprised they didn't arrest her for causing a nuisance.

It could be worse. They could have been driving around instead of eating donoughts.

They could have been searching for one of those terrorist owned Ninja 250s.

The police are sort of like our government. We're much better off when they arn't doing their jobs.

I'm no bomb expert (seeing as I'm not a depressed, midwestern high school student), but wouldn't blowing up a bomb create a bigger explosion than if the bomb went off on it's own? How is blowing the scooter up a solution to the potential of it hiding a bomb?

I'd laugh my arse of if the Bush Admin. blew my bike up, because it was parked in front of a federal building... all the way to the bank.

Without getting too technical. Then answer to your question is "no". Blowing up an explosive device rarely results in a primary detonation of that device. However certain explosives like C4 which require only heat and pressure to detonate, can have a primary detonation if they are not blown "apart" (ie, if it is contained in an enclosed compartment and the compartment is strong enough to allow significant over-presure, the c4 is likely to detonate.

Non too few GIs learned this when using C4 as a solid fuel to cook thier food.... it was nice and safe while it sat there burning, but when they stomped on it to put it out.... kaboom.

Wow. That's all I can say about the GI's and the C4 cooking bit.

Wow.
