Dan Rather? Isn't he the gay porn guy that the White House gave a coveted press pass too?

Default What I Sez

I may get booted off MO for this but, I AM SO SICK AND TIRED of all you memebrs who claim to be motorcycle enthusiasts, or give the impression that you are by what you write, and then denegrate a whole segment of the motorcycle world. I am of the opinion that if a person can disregard and belittle a whole section of motorcycledom then they are just a motorcycle poser, one who doesn't really love motorcycles. All motorcycles (and even scooters) are part of the two wheeled family, and have their own asthetic. I can appreciate an R1, GSXR, etc. for their technical sophistication and there performance abilities, but they aren't all that pretty to look at, and all look very similar (there is good reason for the term UJM). They are form following function, with some body work thrown on whose main purpose is to hide that ugly ass humongus radiator they all have. Cruisers are the epitome of function follwing form. They aren't supposed to be technologically cutting edge, they are designed to appeal to something more carnal within us. While Sportbikes are designed to stir our soul once we fire them up, Harleys and customs stir our soul (or should) the minute we see them. Sportbikes are engineering masterpieces, customs are artistic masterpieces, that sure as hell are more functional than a Van Gough, or a Jackson Pollack or especially that diamond engagement ring some of you guys have bought for your wife. And besides, a whole lot of guys are going to shell out 50,000-60,000 euros ($65,000-$75,000) for a poorly buit Desmosedici replica, that none of them are going to use up to its potential. Furthermore how many of you have spent $18,000-$30,000 for a shabbly buit 998, or 999, because you like the way it looked. Most of you (or anyone else) really needs or has the skills to use is an SV650, or a Z-750 any way I have to get off the internet now. But in closing I will say that our comunity gets bashed enough from the outside world and it is hard enough to get outsiders to see the wonder that we find in motorcycles. We should be embracing and learning from the ones that bust out into the mainstream and appreciate the positive things that they have done for our lifestyle.

That being said I think Jesse james is either one of the greatest promoters of an image ever or he is just an insecure, ignorant, bumb who was endowed with a great sense of asthetic.

good night

Almost anyone can get a daily press pass. You've got to stop believe MoveOn.org's every word.

And what's wrong with being gay?

Ok everybody, group hug....

Thank God we all what know what motorcycles were built for according to this guy. Now it's all answered, I too can get off the internet and get a good night's sleep because it was all just explained to me. Really man, Jesse is about as original as the kid you see at the mall with the mohawk, leather jacket and Misfits tee shirt. Where is the future of motorcycles? Why do we keep reinventing motorcycles from 40 years ago? I wish I knew.

Everybody just do your own thing.
