I have cheap cable (need to pay for my bike), I rely on people like you to discuss. Now I only get a headline and a short story.

I agree. I have been contemplating a move, but a dumb as it sounds, I love a 12 month riding season and decent cops/open roads. The cops will still ticket, but much more level headed than New York cops (my only comparison). The roads in Nevada, though a little straight, are wide open. No driveway, on ramps, stop signs, etc. Once you get out of town you can really enjoy your ride at a comfy speed. Right around triple digit with the occasional blast.

Over the years the republicans have done a great job of convincing everyone that big government is bad. The result of this is Enron, slashing social programs, closing national parks and police and fire departments begging for money.

While an overintrusive socialist nanny state is too much, no government at all results in balkanization and anarchy

The whole idea is government by the people, for the people. Not less is better.

Maybe, but for the most part we have more than achieved the point where less would be better in the US.

The pubbies have promoted this "less govt is better" idea while growing govt by leaps and bounds. The pubbies are every bit as big a bunch of hypocrites as the demonrats.

I'm not calling for bigger govt. I'm just asking that the system of licensing drivers be made somewhat effective. Why issue licenses at all if you aren't going to require decent standards of competence?

Default Tourist?

He wasn't a tourist, he was from Holland, MICHIGAN.

Note to any aspiring editors... It always pays to read (for comprehension) the article before writing the headline.

Maybe you missed the part in the editorial where the idiots would still be ticketed and fined for bad behavior. Government licensing of anything is going to be just about as effective as everything else that they do. Not very. VWW
