I agree with your idea about licensing restrictions, but we should never agree to any restrictions on bikes. Why would we need that? Will today's youth be any deader if they hit a car at 150mph on a GSXR1000 than the youth of 30 years ago at 100mph on a 1969 Kawasaki H1 or Honda CB750? Restricting bikes won't solve the problem of people crashing. It isn't the bike, it's the rider.

Excellent Point and I would agrue to put restrictions on motorcyles would kill the breed and actually stifle any progress in safety. I think one could argue that the modern sportbike when driven responsiblely are safer than a the best sport bike 10 years ago. It stops faster and turns better. And yes accelerates better (sometimes this can get you out of jam)

It may not change the death toll of the people riding to have the faster bikes, but you wreck on the freeway at 150 instead of 100, the number of people involved goes up one hell of a lot.



That's the problem with the way people think today. it's all about how does it affect me personally. What about the 15 other cars the bike hits as it drops from 150 to 0.



You even seen someone lay down a bike over 100? I saw a guy hit the back of a station wagon at 120 on a Honda. He lived, but it killed most of the passengers of the station wagon that were in the back seat, and then the parts that broke off the bike flew into three other cars wrecking two of them due to a smashed windshield, and the other a drivers side window, and then just damaging the third.



you make this 150, or say 189, and you have a whole new world of hurt for the people not stupid enough to ride a bike that fast..
