Default Re: Biodiesel for bikes?

There are a bunch of links to do-it-yourself biodiesel. The main link in the story leads to a Hawaiian outfit that will ship it to your doorstep for a price. Very simple chemistry, cheap chemicals, but very very messy and time consuming. And you get a hell of a lot more soap than you do biodiesel fuel.

Interesting, that: the rise of the biodiesel industry leads to the demise of most of the soap industry.

Here's a reference to that story, and here,s another.

I don't recall that being the case, as I witnessed it seemed like maybe a 10 to 1 ratio, which still made a hell of a lot of soap. I think the key to the whole process was that once you finished mixing it all together that you had to let it settle for like a month or at least a couple of weeks and then you poured the fuel from off the top after all the glycerine had settled to the bottom. It really is all about the setup of your mixing apparatus, this guy seemed to have a pretty foolproof method with very little waste, and you didn't even have to touch it or get your hands dirty.

I beleive Honda leased them to LA for $500 per month or something like that. But the actual cost of the car is in the millions so it's obviously a subsidized lease. That kind of sticker would work out to about $19000 per month.

I used to be a TV reporter and the border patrol would call me whenever they made a bust. I went down to the San Luis border one day and they seized more than 300 pounds of pot and had it stacked up against the wall in a small room. IT wasn't burning but the smell was still so overpowering it was amazing.

Sorry, but if I just type in an example, it becomes a hyperlink. If your browser has an Edit icon, click on it. In the MS browser choose to view the source in Notepad. Imbedded hyperlinks look like this:

{a href="http://news.motorcycle.com/"}MO News{/a}. In the browser this looks like MO News. I have to use { and } to replace the left and right angle brackets (shift-, and shift-.) if I want to display the href anchor syntax.
