And gosh-darnit-all, the founding fathers weren't afraid to be caught wearing tights, either!

This is one of the issues the AMA has fought against for many years. This isn't the first community to pull this crap, and it won't be the last. If you think it's only because of noise, think again. In the Chicago area, mountain bikers were banned from one of the biggest riding areas in the area because horse owners that rode the same trails didn't like the mountain bikers. It took lots of deals and negotiations to even get back a small part of that area to ride, and most is still closed to bikes today. Maybe the bikes were too noisy or polluted too much?? LOL These kinds of things are mostly rich arseholes throwing their power around where they can. Motorcycles are the target at times and sometimes it Blacks or immigrants or non-professionals. I figure a few late night "muscle car" rallies in this tight azz community might shake things up a bit. Boy, they would hate me there.

Gated Communities- feh!. I say put the halfway house, the drug rehab center, and the hazardous waste transfer station right outside the gate. That stuff has got to go somewhere...change their gated community into a ghetto where they can live thier exclusive lives exclusive of any and all city services or conveniences. screw'em.

Where I live in the Dallas area, most new developments require membership in a home owners association. If the bikes didn't make much noise, no one would care or notice them. A guy living behind me has loud pipes on his cruiser and it's an irritation, and I like bikes and ride often.

How about some peace and quiet.

Cheers

Well put Dave. I feel like we were cut from the same mold. The reply further down this list is alarming. It shows that socialist liberal pussies are growing in numbers. That guy probably drives a mini-suv during the week, and dresses in leather on the weekends pretending to be a bad-ass.

There are motorcyclists, such as ourselves. Then, there are the people with too much money, too much attitude, and too little gray matter upstairs. Also, for the people who vote for these rules in these gated communities, let's organize a weekly ride through their precious neighborhood.

Later,

Josh

Default Cool, About time Hollywood did this

Cool, It's about time Hollywood gave us sport bike guys the respect we deserve, in such a realistic film. Just kidding. Looks like Fast and Furious on two wheels. Now my wife is going to suspicious about where I go on my rides on Saturdays.

Abso-effin-lutely! Equally true whether the subject is Harleys or green beans. No reason to take offense just because I happen to like something you do not.

Personally, I am a Democrat who happens to like most of the things you say you dislike (well, I am not that crazy about rap music or Madonna -- although I remember an old nude photo shoot in Playboy where she had hairy armpits -- really hot!) but I took that is simply an expression of your personal preferances -- last I checked, we were still allowed to have such preferances!

Heh heh. Oh yes. Don't join the AMA because of their helmet stance. See what happens to you.

It is simplistic and incorrect to blame this on loud pipes. This neighborhood is full of loud droning lawnmowers every Saturday. Rather, loud pipes are the excuse used by fascistic neighbors to justify their nasty little preconcieved prejudices. Remember the "Less Sound, More Ground" campaign of the 70's? We made less sound and still faced massive land closures.

The average middleclass American, regardless of political leanings, is too often a totalitarian at heart. This is an example. Be it "hate crimes legislation" or "anti-smoking ordinances", they have no problem passing the most fascistic rules against anyone who acts in any way to frighten them. Motorcycles represent freedom. Freedom is something we give lipservice to but seldom really believe in.

Did anyone notice the report that some neighbors pick on the motorcyclists even though those bikers are following the rules? Noise has nothing to do with it. We are secondclass citizens. And if we don't join together and fight this sort of nonsense it will simply spread.

History has a special term of pacific peoples. They are called slaves. This stupid dissension amongst motorcyclists (Cruiser riders are posers, sportbike riders are bigots, etc.) only gives aid to those who intend to ban us althogether.

Members of the Party that gave us mind-control Hate Crimes Legislation should keep quiet about closed-mindedness.
