Sadly, all that confounded wog-hemp has addled my shippies brain... It was Airman Cuddy who used to steal MY Motocross Action mags after a pleasent few hours rockin' the ganga` and letting him hangout with the snipes in our Uptakes clubhouse, complete with couchs and arm chairs "borrowed" from the Ready Rooms during Sea Trials.......

Didja ever hang out in the vent filter cleaning compartment that was right over sponson 8? The MAAs would hang out there to make sure the trash detail poked holes in the trash bags, and we'd blow copious amounts of blue smoke down on the sponson, and the MAA's would go nuts trying to find out who was smoking the evil stuff and run around like the weasels looking for who was puffing on it. Hahahha. They never found out (we could look right through the vent in the deck of the shop and see the whole sponson).

"Welcome to the site, it's a lot of fun, mostly decent guys and gals. Watch out for Longride, he was a Chicago Fireman and likes to go on "retreats"...(you konw, the whole "Brokeback" thing....I probably don't need to explain.....)"

After 4 years on a boat with all those sailor boys, I'm suprised you can still sit!

I too was on Indy, from 78 - 81; my first ship. I was a fresh-caught (NROTC) Ensign, and was in R-Division for the first two years. One of those years I was the ship's Fire Marshal. I sat the Engineering Officer of the Watch; I usually spent a lot of time trying to explain why we had fuel in the drinking water.

I then went to Navigation Division so I could get my Warfare quals, then it was off to Dive School.

Still in the Reserves. Retirement date is 1 September.

I didn't ride a motorcycle until I was 36.

Welcome to the site, Marine!
