2006 BUELL XB12XULYSSES 49ST XB12X ULYSSES 49 ST - Orange

Looking for a car I found this posted in the wrong section. The dealer is an actual dealer, though. Pretty good deal for a Buell.

With a price like that, my first reaction is "what's wrong with it?"

If it checks out, that would be a really nice deal.

There could be lots of things wrong with it. Unless someone I trusted actually inspected and rode it, I wouldn't take a car dealer ad for gospel. I would only buy is sight-unseen if Obamalama said it was OK, because he knows everything.

The guy took it as a trade. Doesn't have any real money into it and is flipping it. He made $1800 on the car sale and figures if he can make $500 on the bike it was worth the trade. He's 20 miles from my house and said I could inspect and test ride it anytime. If anyone's interested I would do the leg work for them. It'd just give me a reason to run over and play with it.

I had to ride 20 miles to demo the Uly a while back, worth the ride, fun bike. (not this uly)

I've ridden one before too, fun bikes and $5k is a good price, never heard of "Georgia" though, is it over in Eastern Washington or something? If only they put spoke wheels on it I'd buy it in a minute!

IMHO:

The Uly was on my short list a year ago when I bought the VStrom. My pal at HD let me give one a good ride. Frankly, it doesn't hold a candle to the VStrom. I have a lot more power, lots more room for me and my pillion, and the engines are night and day. The handling on the Uly is squirrely as crap; maybe the one I rode wasn't dialed in well. The brakes are better on the Buell, and it sounds better. But, the accessory aftermarket for the DL is better by far. I know they're good bikes, but if you want a DS in that price range, a DL1000 is a much better bike.
