There are two Tetsuo movies. Tetsuo, the Iron Man and Tetsuo II: Body Hammer. I have only had the chance to see the first one but I have heard good things about the second (meaning it is just as strange and f-ed up).

It is just a very odd Japanese movie. Very odd.

I have not seen any of Park Chan-wook's movies. Might have to pick up a few of them. I saw some footage of Old Boy on YoutTube. It looked promising.

I thought all 3 Vengeance movies were good, though "Sympathy for Mr Vengeance" was bit weaker than "Oldboy" and "Lady Vengeance".

Another good but very weird Korean movie is "Save The Green Planet". Definitely worth a view IMHO. Highly recommended.

The Asian films can be very weird but that's okay with me. At least they are often very different. And that's better than the cookie cutter politically motivated bilge that Hollywood churns out. The atrocious remake of "The Day The Earth Stood Still" is a prime example. Or that laughfest "The Day After Tomorrow". Please poke my eyes out if I ever rent "Something's Gotta Give". And furthermore, believe it or not, Steve Martin is releasing a sequel to the horrid "Pink Panther" remake. I hope Peter Sellers' ghost strangles him.

Last night I sunk to a netflix double bill from the Golden Age of Turkish Cinema. A double disc of "The Deathless Devil" and "Some Turkish Dude vs The Vikings". These movies make every mistake you can imagine.... except the prime mistake of being boring. And they are pretty risque considering they came from a predominately Muslim country. How they got past the religious censors I can't imagine. But be warned. These are truly crap and only for the true afficionado of bad cinema. If you like to watch "Plan 9 From Outer Space" occasionally you might like these. I gotta admit that Dr Satan sure enjoyed his work. Kind of a low rent Dr Evil.
