Because it's time for Biker Boyz, 2003's two-wheeled answer to "The Fast 'n The Furious!"
Is it a Black movie that centers on motorcycling? Is it a motorcycle movie that centers on Blacks? Or is it Yet Another Teen Movie, about young man, coming of age, finding hisself in a world he doesn't understand? I don't know, and frankly, I don't think the director or actors did either. Packed with cliches, Biker Boyz follows the riding career of Jamal; the son of a legedary motorcycle mechanic who was cruelly killed at the sidelines of a street race. Except Jamal really isn't his son, he is in fact, the bastard son of Schmoke, played by none other than Lawrance Fishburne. From a putzy kid who falls off his bike to the leader of the Biker Boyz, we join in his journey as Jamal becomes a man. Set in LA, a number of real-live bike clubs participated in making the film. The character Smoke (Fishburne) is based on Manuel Galloway, who leads an LA club whose white-collar members trade their suits and ties for leather and boots when the weekends come. Where have we heard that one before? Some of the race and stunt scenes are quite good; you'll have to decide if they're worth schlepping through the emotional BS to get to them. Available now from Netfilx, Biker Boyz gets 2.5 stars.

Is that the one where he sat atop his Triumph in a white crew-neck tee and leather jacket, and sneered a lot at the camera?

No. That was the other F -n- F 2 wheel take-off with white guys and the jet bike. Which was worth seeing just for the Y2K bike alone.
