That's the kicker. I can dress for cold down into the teens but below 32 you have the potential for ice and that ain't no fun at all. We also get a lot of fog in the winter that freezes as frost on the roadways. It'll put you on your backside before you know it so fog or freezing and I'm driving unless i have to ride.

I've noted over the years on MO that occasionally people claimed that they ride all year even when there's ice on the roads. I believe none of them.

I can't see how that's possible, at least not without tire spikes (which I believe are illegal in most states).

I can assure you that I see NOBODY riding here when the ice and snow is out. Anyone that claims otherwise is lying. I DO see cyclists riding downtown when the ice and snow is out, which is pretty nuts IMO.

My blike isnt likely to sit more then 10 days at a time, I consider my self a year round rider, but if its below freezing and wet, it stays put.
