We all learn from our mistakes, but learn nothing from near misses.

This was over a period of 35 years. Taking the dirt bikes out was for fun when I was a teenager the rest was as I said due to my insistence on riding all year coupled with our capricious weather. The Sporty and K100RS were also for fun I admit but I was prone to a somewhat cavalier attitude towards my own personal safety in those days. The other times were on rare occasions since the early 80's on when I gotten caught by changing weather on various bikes. I work at sea level right next to the water and live 40 miles away in the Cascade foothills at about 800 feet, needless to say there can be quite a bit of variation in weather patterns in a relatively short distance. It's easier than you'd think to get caught out.
