Default 2009 Yamaha R1

DOes anyone know the date the unveiling of the 2009 yamaha R1 will be? and when will it be available for purchase? anyone have any advice on whether the new '09 R1 is a better investment than an '07 or '08 R1? other than newer model of course. cause there are older models who have better performance than newer ones. not necessarily for yamaha

No current motor-vehicle is an "investment". Especially not a Japanese motorcycle.

Keep it crated for say 75 years, it might be an investment. I've heard there is a shop on Long Island that has SV 1K's naked [2003]. Their hoping it's an investment. At the prices they mentioned they had better hope.... It has been a couple years.

Not sure when they'll unvail it but I would tend to think around March (Daytona). Also I'v never known a Manufacture to come out with a bike thats not better than previous years?

You're absolutely Right - even if that "better" is only 0.00062783%

Honda's CB 360 was commonly panned as worse than the CB 350 it replaced. I am sure there are other examples.

How about something within the past say 20 yrs? I think the technology is far superior now then back then. Wouldnt you agree?

However, I did think the Ex650 would have made more power than the Sv650 and be an all around better bike.

Angry R1 Cylinders firing 90 degrees apart?

From the article: "R1’s engine has individual cylinders firing 90 degrees apart from each other. This eliminates the torque fluctuation of a typical four-cylinder mill"
How does this work, two firings per revolution with uniform torque fluctuations puts them at 180 degrees in my book.
