I'm happy to see so many replies.. but what about 2008 model sh**t?
You stimulated a 50 reply thread. Most of it actually about motorcycles. That pretty good for MO.

We don't practice thread-naziism here. As long as people don't start threatening each other the threads pretty much go any which way.

I agree with you about the boring lineups again this year. Very few bikes make me want to get a checkbook out and only one of those bikes, the Versys, comes from the Big4. The Versys looks pretty good in person BTW. A lot better than the pictures.

To paraphrase Gene Krantz, NASA Mission Director, "I believe this will be motorcycling's finest hour." I'm repeating myself from an earlier thread, but I cannot remember a time when there were more interesting and exciting choices from so many manufacturers. It's true that some of the mainstay players, especially Honda, are dissapointing, but to me that's far outweighed by the rest. To paraphrase the guy who claims he's President: "I'm a half glassed full kind of guy."

He's not the Slowest President we've had, nor is he the Quickest President ever, either.

He's America's first Half-Fast President.............

I don't think so.

Ditto, there's plenty of nice new bikes out there, what exactly are you looking for?

look back through the thread.. Essentially, I want something like Honda's CB1100R concept bike, with a tad's worth of sport-touring accoutrements.. bungee-points, etc.

Triumph's ST1050 is truly great.. but just a little too heavy for my taste.. and I'd appreciate that motor more as an 1100 0r 1200. Top of my list, though.

Most everything else that I would spend money on.. (generally "SPORT"-touring), honestly, leaves me yawning

PS i've owned 25 motorcycles in the past, and was a shop mechanic for a few years... so I retain the right to "complain" !

I tend to agree with you. Too many 'me too' bikes out there and not enough original thought. Just because there is one original bike with 15 copies doesn't mean there is lots of choice.
