Not quite as good as the new Ducati rendering.

I predict it will sell as well as the Vstrom 1000. How many of you own one of those here? Doesnt Ken own a 1000?

Actually Kawi sold the DL1000 as the Kawasaki KLV1000. And yes, I own an '07 DL1000. The DL never caught on in the US, but they were and remain very popular in Austrailia and Europe. The 650 Weestrom remains one of Suzuki's best sellers. I'm looking forward to a review here on MO when they get a 2012 Wee to test.

When my Uly dies, that will likely be the replacement. The SMT belongs everywhere, including the track. (I just wonder how the KTM support and reliability are.)

On a side note they (Suzuki ) are bringing the DL1000 back for 2012. Yikes!

Wait. What?! Hopefully, they will restyle the big V in a more pleasing fashion.

This is a pretty interesting comparo of the Tiger 1050, the GS, and the Versys 1K. The reviewers really liked the Versys; if you want to skip the video:

#3: The Tiger 1050. Dated, but still fun, the best choice for the twisties.

#2. The Versys 1K. Fastest bike of the lot, very comfortable, room for 2-up, no off-pavement pretentions.

#1. The GS. Big and heavy, expensive, slowest. But it's a BMW.

Well there you have it, the GS is still the one. A more realistic test would have been the GS, Triumph Explorer and the Yammi Super Ten. I think that would be a pretty interesting comparison.

Putting that clunky old dinosaur 1050 in with sleek and modern bikes like the GS and Versys is just mean....
