No rumor here; we are a new motorcycle company in La Verne, California. We are building a 149cc motorcycle that takes its styling cues from the Mustang Motor Products bikes made in Glendale, California during the 1940s/50s/60s. We're not building econo-bikes; these are "Scooters" with lots of billet, chrome, stainless brake lines, and other custom features.
Questions? Ask away, and I'll do what I can to answer. The old... ![]() And the new... ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a video of a recent test ride... YouTube - GoGo Gear Visits California Scooter Company - TEST DRIVE! Last edited by JoeyBee : 02-06-2010 at 07:30 AM. |

Nice designing, but that "scooter" logo sure looks like "sportster".

Nice looking bikes, but too bad you couldn't source some different motors for 'em. A nice Gladden Industrial motor (that the original Mustang used) can be found at swap meets, also, a v-twin Vanguard Briggs & Stratton hooked up to a torque converter (Salisbury still makes 'em) would be more astetically pleaseing than that Honda motor.
Still, nice looking. Hope you sell a bunch of 'em. Might want to get some kind of springer on the front too, as an option.

Questions:
What's the engine output? How's it driven, is it 1 speed? Clutch? Street legal with VIN etc.? Warranty? Distributors, service and parts? How much?

Put some fat knobbies on there and a high pipe and you have a whole new model. What's the cost? What about dealers? Are they 50 state legal? Are they 3spd?

Down here at the beach, everyone rides around on scooters (which all pretty much look alike). If I did ride a scoot, I'd want it to look a little different, much like these. Of course, I can only imagine the comedic sight of seeing my fold my 6'5" legs up on one of these... kinda like a circus bear on a tricycle.
