Am considering purchasing '09 Goldwing. Any info on expected / actual gas mileage?

I think you could reasonable expect anywhere between 35-40 mpg. 35 was a real-world number I got off the Goldwing Riders' Association website.

You can get better mileage with a car if that's your top priority. Maybe a Smart for 2?

Smart Cars don't actually get that great gas mileage. My wife's Honda Civic gets 38 mpg (not hybrid). The new Ford Fusion hybrid gets 50 mpg!

My dad's '10 Prius over the first 3500 miles is averaging 50mpg. Cruising around Sioux Falls over the weekend he was getting 56mpg.

I had a '94 Sentra with a 4 speed that got 40, plus it was a little screamer to drive..

Not mine. Day to day it's in the mid to upper 20's. Road trips can get into the 30's. Don't believe the hype! Then again, I do have a lead foot.

I hit 39-40 with the '96 Neon I had in college. It was a hoot; fun to yank the handbrake and drop the clutch for front wheel drive burnouts.
