Bikes I'd keep on the radar:
Zook Bandit 1200- old school, easy to wrench on and easy to sell
Kawi ZRX1100- see above
Trumpet Speed4- Brit cool and dirt cheap to buy
2001-2004 Yam FZ1- R1 power on a Bandit body (but nicer)
Zook SV1000
Buell M2 Cyclone- easily had for $3000 now
Duc M800s2r
BMW r1100r

With the exception of the BMW & Duc most can be had for $4500 or less.

Dang, I forgot about the FZ 1, excellent bike as ace mentioned above more modern than the Bandit and Z-REX, the new ones look dope as sh*t..a perenial short lister for me.

When I looked for a new bike the first thing I did was hit craigslist for Bandit's, ZRX's, FZ1's and airhead Beemers, usually it's whatever has the best price/miles
this time around it was my Bandit but an FZ1 would have worked jes' fine

Why you gotta hate, yo? Actually, my hat can be handed to me with a much lesser bike. Probably a Civic will do it too.

Not one mention of the Ducati Hyper Motard? Is this not the very definition of the Holligan bike? Except that when I was watching Super Bikes (between races last Sunday, I swear I didn't know it was coming on) Ricky whatshisname did a 1/4 mile wheelie and the poor bike choked on it's own oil. The very unhappy owner said he figured $5k ought to set it right.

"HOOLIGAN! DROP THOSE COCONUTS!!!" BONK! "Not on me you IDIOT!" Sorry Skipper!

I think the Hyper is beyond his budget. I've ridden one and loved it.

It's a great bike for a tall guy as well. It's like sitting on a big dirtbike.

Now is finished, there are plenty of props hanging around doing nothing but collecting dust and NBC/Universal have decided to auction them off. The variety of items on offer is simply staggering, ranging from medals and rank insignia, to rocket launchers and flight helmets. You can even buy currency and letters, should such things tickle your fancy.

The auction takes place in Pasadena on May 8-10.
