Never new she rode motorcycles.

Or is she a porn star. I always get them mixed up...

I guess you could say I outlived hundreds and maybe thousands of track veterans at this point, so my point is as valid as yours. I know lots of guys that got off the street and do track days exclusively because riding on the street was dangerous. I never knew even one guy that thought the race track was more dangerous than the street. None. Comparing boxers, or fighting styles is exactly to the point. Different looks, different skills, different styles, different results. Nicky Hayden isn't a kid any more last time I looked, and I bet he hardly rides on the street. I bet I have more miles on my current set of boots than he has total on the street. If you are looking for bad analogies, please feel free to include that a track racer = superior commuter. They aren't, and neither are you. Sorry to bust your bubble.

I also "agreed" that the street is more inherently dangerous, that's true.

You wont have 14yrs on me if you get into an accident
because like Iv stated "THE STREET IS ALOT MORE DANGEROUS"?

The only problem Ihad with your statements was this,..

All I said is that there are street survival skills and race skills. The two don't have much to do with each other.

And the problem I had is with this:
"This kid, at this age, had more talent in his pinky than most of you commuters will ever have."

Always remember that when you take a slap at people you always run the risk of getting slapped back.

It's pretty amusing really. Everyone has talent. The question is, "Do you have enough?" If you can survive at the type of riding you do then you have enough talent. Who cares if someone else has "more"? Plenty of those "highly talented" pros are too scared to ride the street and pee their pants at the thought of it. LOL! Racing is entertaining but let's not go overboard and think that a pro racer is a superior being of some sort. They are just people and put their legs in their pants one at a time like the rest of us.

Other talents are far more valuable that the ability to race. We'd get along much longer without GP racers than we would without plumbers.

Ok, agreed on the internet it will not hurt, me atlest? I was a bit nerved due to the fact this post started as a fun thread, and then everyone started replying with stupid answers, so thats probly where the statment came from.

At his age now I still agree with my statment. But too each his own, believe what you want because no matter what anyone here says I believe they do have more talent, but amoungst this site maybe you disagree thats fine. Iam ok with your opinions, I will never agree but thats ok, at least for me cause I'v been in both situations and see what each one takes. That is what I base my opinion on.

I must admit for a bunch of really comical Mc.com regulars, your all pretty easy to get knotted panties which I find strange due to past post of others, but none the less back to some fun. Boy you guys get riled up easily!

Name this rider,....

I don't know the rider's name, but Killboy took the pics on the Dragon about a year-ago. The guy survived with surprisingly minimal rash - there are a few more pics to this "sequence" that Killboy took that aren't quite up to his standards.

Luckily, there wasn't anyone coming the other way, and the guy was only doing about 25mph or so.

I doubt he's a commuter OR a racer............

That rider is 1 cruiser for every 400 sportbikes that crash at the Dragon every year. What was your point again?

I watch the Dragon "stats" - your typical Dragon Crash-Victim is a guy on a Goldwing or BMW Tourer pootling-along at 20-30mph, with a 50-foot-stare that "overcooks" one of the switchbacks, or cheats a decreasing-radius left-hander, (IIRC, the last 4 fatalities on the Dragon were these types of bike) or meets-up with some jackass doing this:

The other 40% or so is about evenly-divided between "Sportbikers" and "Cruisers".
