Default Mark this date: Nicky to Ducati for 2009

I was told by a very reputable Ducati dealer (and friend) Nicky has inked the deal. Obviously, this will be denied as he's under contract with Honda until November. I was told that this was wrapped up during the time of the Luguna round. So, Nicky's kicked to the curb by Honda (which didn't really want him anyway) and signed the contract because Ducati thinks that he can put the new carbon framed GP bike consistantly on the podium for next season. Sweet!

Default Honda's New Slogan

"If you're bigger than a jockey, you're too big for Honda."

I was a bit ticked when Honda threw Nicky under the bus for that little P Rick. Would love to see Nicky stick it to Pedrosa next year. Time will tell.

Because Ducati has the ability to "dial" in the electronics like no other company Nicky should be able to adapt easily. Ducs put out more power than anything on the grid. With Nicky's ability to control wheel spin and his Superbike/Flat track style of riding you should see him regularly up front.
People don't tend to credit him as a development rider, but Nicky has kept Honda and Dani in the hunt. He came to grips last season with the fact that Honda doesn't want him. However, Honda needs him because his ability to communicate the problem issues and get them fixed would never be accomplished if left up to Dani or the test riders.
Too bad for Honda. Congratulations to Ducati for the "right" pick. Nicky can do for Ducati what Colin and Vale do for Yamaha- make fast bikes faster and win races (except for the Colin part in wins).

I'm always rooting for Nicky Hayden. Hope you're right about him going to Ducati.

It's shameful the way honda's treated him, they deserve to get their noses rubbed in it and I hope Nickys the one to do it.

Nick's going to race the X Games SM race. That should be pretty interesting. He's got X-Games gold on his mind.

Can not wait to see what the Kid can bring to Ducati. He is a development rider and hopefully Honda realises that when its too late. As much as I hate the move to the 4strokes and even worse the 800s, the sport is really turned into F1 where electronics rule, not rider skill(as much).

Go Nicky show em what cha got! Just hope its better for him than Melandri.
