Default DMG Phucs It Up...AGAIN

Danny Eslick crashes and they red-flag the Daytona 200. "The tires made me fall down." Except all the other racers said their tires were working fine. Danny: sometimes you have to ride an imperfect bike. Sorry you stepped off at 170...but you aren't the first and you won't be the last.

What the hell is wrong with these people? Is the total destruction of the 200 their end-goal? Who in their right mind is going to waste another $50 to sit in the grandstands for hours on end hoping they'll actually run a race.

I was on the road all day yesterday and have not seen the race. DVR at the ready for me, however. I have read the news. As far as I can see, Danny's whining was slammed shut in a post race with the Dunlop guys. Odd that it was Zemke's team that convinced AMA to do the tire swap with 30 to go. Zemke had been up front all day from what I read. But the DiSalvo motor swap was incredible. I suppose they allowed it becasue it was the same bike that started the race. DiSalvo said it took a mere 20mins and he was back on the grid. Personally, if you blow a motor I believe your day is done- red flag or not. Zemke had a great race. Wish he'd have won. Those P1A guys can build a hell of a bike with no funding. I think they need a better marketing guy. How can you not want this team to succeed if you look at the results from last season and the 200 weekend? Motorcycle.com/P1A Racing sounds pretty good.
I'll watch what was recorded and comment further. But overall I'd say it was no better than the race weekend when I came down to hang out with you, Ken. Just weird.

I hope your DVR is smart enough to record the rest of the race 6 hours after it was supposed to run. Mine wasn't; apparently Speed ran it at 11 pm or midnight.

Sure, red-flag the race, change motors, goof around deciding if the tires that were tested for days are really ok. And meantime, keep the fans roasting in the stands for hours on end, buying $4 hot dogs and $3 cokes.

UFB.

Didnt get to watch the whole thing and I don't own a DVR, so I'll just have to wait or,...miss it all together. I don't watch to much AMA because of last years problems with the series. Its just a warm up to the season.

Although the changing of the motor I'd like to know more about, sounds like classic Disalvo.

I will say that was the oddest looking crash that Eslick took that I've ever seen.

The crash was in the part of the race I had recorded. If you watch closely, you can see a long black skid mark and smoke from the front tire right up to when he went over the handlebars. The only question is: did Danny panic and lock the front, did the brakes lock, or did somebody jam a stick in his front spokes?

I'll take #1 for $200.

From what I could see in the 'highlight reel,' it looked like he locked the front, then got tagged from behind.

Maybe he smacked the brake lever against another bike, and jammed it?

Talk about a rough race, did you see Stewart missing all those jumps? That hurt from my couch!

Why do they even bother with racing motorcycles at that place?

OK- I saw it. I set the DVR to record the superbike race at 11pm. So, I was in the house. Elsick's fold was crazy no doubt but it appeared that only a few guys had the issue so I chalk it up to set-up. No one else really was bent out of shape that was running in the top 10.
Too bad about Jake Zemke not pulling off magic. Too bad Jake Holden broke. And JD will become a superstar.

Eboz's best quote ever paraphrased, "Does anyone else think it's crazing racing next to walls?"

Ok heres what happened per Wikle's team which one of my buddies was helping in pit lane. Apparently Dunlop admitted to supplying 2year old tires to everyone. Then when Danny crashed they ended up changing everybodies tires to one's that had not been sitting on the self for two years. That was the whole tire problem.
