If your last names Dingman,...
GuideStar Releases AMA's Form 990s "Open To Public Inspection" by dean adams Wednesday, January 05, 2011 Non-profit watchdog entity Guidestar has made several of the AMA's recent tax filings public. We found three Form 990s filed by the AMA and thank Guidestar for making them public. To simplify matters, the PDFs are here: PDF 1 (1.4 meg in size) PDF 2 (706k in size) PDF 3 (1.33 meg in size) We're still digesting the information in these PDFs, but one item jumped out at us: While the American economy might be ailing on many different levels, there's serious money to be made by running a non-profit with a dwindling membership. Apparently, AMA President Rob Dingman's compensation tops $200,000. ENDS Soup :: GuideStar Releases AMA's Form 990s :: 01-05-2011

You have a problem with that......why ?? It is a fairly big organization. You have a bone to pick with the AMA in general ?? It kind of looks like that might be the case.

$200,000? Call me when his compensation is more than Buz's Amsterdam-weekend pocket-money........

Why yes I do! That's a bit spendy in todays corporate environment imo specially in the AMA. And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks that or it wouldnt have made the news.

Not really.
The economy in general is in bad shape and the "little guys" are hurting but the "corporate environment" hasn't really changed that much. A drastic pay cut for a typical CEO is a loss of $500,000 in compensation.......from $4 M to $3.5 M. Basketball and football coaches at medium sized universities even make more than $200K.

Exactly! Way to much, money like that just says there is no real love for the sport imo. It's just done for the money. Spoiled rotten highschool mentality for some of these players. Case in point the basket ball player that punched a fan a few years back. I would have never let that player step foot on a court again.

Gee, Moke, what is your suggestion for compensation for the President of the AMA?
I know some people have issues with what Dingman WAS HIRED TO DO. He is shifting the AMA's emphasis to membership and rights. It is a gamble, and may not work. There are millions of motorcyclists in the US. Only about 200,000 are AMA members. Suggestions, anyone?
