Maybe the bike blew the rod and seized on him. These new crappy 4-striker MX bikes are known to self-destruct quite frequently without warning.

I think the older 4strokes were infamous for having problems, today not so much. As recent as 3yrs ago they had that reputation.

It's still happening. Look at the parts for sale on Ebay. Hardly any 2 stroke stuff. Lots of 4 strokes being parted out.

MX is the cross-training of most racers- bikes or cars. You can work every muscle group in 30 mins. Then they hit the road on the bicycles for 30miles. Almost every top gun does it. You can slip in the gym as easy as falling off your bike.

Thats mainly because only Yamaha is still selling the YZ125,YZ250. And people are holding on to there 2smokes nowadays.
