Well LR if you have grown up watching as much racing as you've said before you've got to have a better Hero then Mladin. Come on who is it? Give us the lowdown who was the best racer you have witnessed in person?

D!ck Mann. He was the best ever. The guy was a great road racer, flattracker, motocrosser, and built just about every bike he ever raced. He would sit in the pits for hours and talk to the fans about anything, and would thank them all the time for coming out to see the races. I watched him race and talked to him when I was a kid. I had a poster of him on his BSA on my closet door growing up. I got to see him in Peoria a couple of years ago, and it was really cool talking to him again after alot of years. I read his book a few years back. He is a legend in anyone's book. He is everything Mat Mladin wished he could be.

Mladin I will agree could'nt even hold Manns jock. Thats interesting to hear he is your all time favorite, knew you had one. Do you think he remembered who you were seeing you again after all those years?
That would make for a great story if he did remember you.

When Nicky raced AMA as a kid running Flat Track and Roadraces was pretty cool back in 2000-2001. Ben Bostrom doing the same thing back in the 90's was pretty cool. King Kenny era was pretty cool. Scott Russell was a killer roadracer.

Off subject, yet related: The original Valkyrie commercial with Jake Zemke crossing up the bike was probably the coolest Honda ad during the 90s.
