Lorenzo's title run ended in the gravel trap of turn one at Phillip Island where he landed after his crash. Lorenzo cannon-balled into the back of Nick Hayden's Ducati, ending the American's race.

Stoner's margin of victory was just under two seconds.

James Toseland was awarded a stop and go penalty for jumping the start.

What a race nothing like seeing someone beating Rossi. Too bad he's out of the championship.
