One of the best days in my life was the Daytona 200 when Mladin and Duhamel battled for the lead almost every lap of the race. Duhamel would get by Mladin in the infield, Duhamel would get by him somewhere on the oval. Nobody in the grandstands sat down the entire race. On the last lap, Duhamel just barely edged Mat out, right at the finish line. I've never seen a race as exciting since.

Good luck Mat, and thanks for the mammaries.

Were you able to finish one of those triple corn dogs before the end?

Cool

Been reading he wants to be a team manager and run his own team. Hopefully he actually goes to Wsbk.

Mladin Retirement Final
by dean adams
Saturday, August 01, 2009
According to the man himself, six-time US Superbike champion Mat Mladin, who has dominated the series for nearly the last decade, he won't be racing at all after the conclusion of the 2009 DMG Superbike season.

It is known that Mladin had talks with World Superbike teams in the early part of the 2009 season in regards to 2010. Mladin's current Suzuki contract ends this year and many had hoped he would move to World Superbike in 2010. Ben Spies' success in that series this year makes it an easy guess that Mladin could go there and win races, if not the championship.

Sadly it is not to be. Mladin said today that he will not race after this season.

Maybe he'll enroll in a karate class with a bunch of 6 year-olds.
