They own the "rest" of flattrack, the short track and TTs. They're all 450cc MXbased bikes, now.

I WANT TO SEE MO ROAST A FEW! AND DIRT BIKES!
I don't think anyone on theMO staff cares about dirt riding anymore. Besides, you don't want to hear about overweight, slow four strokes, do ya?

I'll try and come up with a ride report from our soiree into WV two weeks ago. Trouble is, my left hand is still in a cast. Hard to type with one hand.

Don't ride pissed off!

I guess the Suzukis are no longer competitive without Jake Johnson or JR Schnabel.

You can get some decent power out of a New Bonnie, at least enough to rub that antique Harleys nose in it like a new puppy on a white shag rug..........Gene Romero still around?

Yeah "Burrito" is still alive & kickin'. He was at Mid-Ohio last year, hanging out with all the old MX & Flat Track stars. I was supposed to go, but my wheelchair would of just got stuck in the mud. They had a most excellent swap meet with all sorts of unobtainium. Sigh.

Pplasm, what happend? A cast, eh? Yes, I go back under the knife in a week or so, all the bolts holding my spine together have loosened up, hurts like a sumbytch. Pfah.

Yeah, I am going to offer up my services as a tester (albeit vicariously) via my ex-riding buddies, we'll see what transpires. I doubt it, not a member of the "cadre".

The guy who bought my '87 CR500 stuck the motor in a aluminum CR250 frame, said it's scary fast now. I miss beating all my buddies on their new four strikers, I always kept telling them they race thier 450's in the 250 class, didn't dig my joke..oh well.

My last ride on the mighty CR I had a GPS in my pocket, and the 500 topped out at 90 mph on El Mirage with a 3 year old top end. Like to see the modern stuff do that, and still be rideable. I was running 15/47 gears.

I was going to turn it into a dragster, but LACR closed down, so that got shelved. A lot of senile open clas bikes use to kick ass in the 1/4 mile at LACR. Finally the crotch rockets (stock) gave up. I read somewhere that a good running 500cc two stroke MX bike accelerated faster than an F1 car. I believe it!

Yeah right, like it wasn't scary fast before.

I love all the ink about how great and fast the new 450s are. Right. They are racing in the 250 class. At best. Could be worse though. You could be riding your nice shiny new 250 4-striker and run up against some gray haired old coot on a 30 year old IT175. Now that would be real embarrasing.

I know my dad's 380 GP rep. Chay Zet could yank your arms out pretty good........new knobbies on a nice loamy grass straight...get that little beetch up on the pipe and hang on for the ride, a grin facter of about +20.. I got to lay into my dad's riding buddies Greeves Griffon once too. That was another one, even with the leading link front end it still wanted to mono off in a cloud of bean oil

I always wanted to wring the snot out of a 501 Maico too but I haven't yet.. that big square cylinder looked like a cinder block stuck on there. Open class two strokes were pure woodie material, I think the only thing that hit harder was a 500 GP bike......I wonder if any of Barry Sheene's Suzuki's are still around....

Don't go trail riding wih people you're going to get PO'ed at. These bastids didn't want to start riding until the crack'o noon. They have no military training. I got hot, and overrode my skillset.

Crashed into a gulley full of rocks, and dislocated my left index finger at the big joint.

Lesson: Do not seek medical treatment in Welch, WV. The "doctor" ( I believe his name was Szell (Dr. Christian Szell (Character)) ), spent an hour trying to reseat the finger without administrating any pain meds. Ouch.

When they tried to put me in an ambulance to Beckley (2 hours away), I discharged myself, and drove 5 hours back to Richmond. It took a bit of surgery to reseat the joint.

Hope that fixes you up, bro!

That's my plan, too. Just got to clear some "dead wood" out of the garage. I might have the Buell sold. I have ridden it 250 miles in 3 years. Ouch.
